Allgroo are a Korean producer of mainly frozen food products and Korean-style dumplings. Allgroo's Frozen Korean Oyster Meat contains oyster meat removed from Korean oyster shells, glazed, and flash-frozen. Oysters largely have a neutral flavour profile, but take on much of their taste from their surrounding environment. This can lead to a variety of flavours among regional oyster varieties. Typically, oysters farmed from waters with a high saline content will take on a much more salty and briny flavour. Meanwhile, freshwater oysters can be much lighter in taste and almost buttery. Korean oysters are known for their rich, briny taste and meaty texture. The flavour can be described as a combination of salty, sweet, and umami, with a slight mineral taste that is characteristic of oysters. The texture is firm and chewy, with a subtle crunch from the oyster's muscle. Allow time for your Allgroo Frozen Korean Oyster Meat to defrost before cooking. For safety reasons, don't try to refreeze any oyster meat that you've defrosted.
