Dried bay leaves are aromatic leaves that come from the bay laurel tree. Known for their subtle, herbal fragrance and rich, earthy flavour, these leaves are often used to enhance the taste of soups, stews, sauces, and many other dishes. The drying process intensifies their flavour, making them a convenient and long-lasting kitchen staple. When cooking, a few dried bay leaves are typically added to the pot and later removed before serving, imparting a unique and aromatic essence to the food.
